Trisha L. Andrew, Ph.D. (MIT ‘11), is the inventor of the proprietary Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) platform technology for textiles. As Soliyarn’s founder & CSO, Dr. Andrew continues to invent new finishes using the core platform technology. She is also a Professor of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at UMass Amherst and Director of the Wearable Electronics Lab at UMass. She is a thought leader and an expert in adapting fibers and fabrics for technological applications using sustainable chemical processing, such as seamlessly embedding electronics into wearable systems. Her research lab in UMass, Amherst has pioneered the use of chemical vapor deposition for creating textile electronics, demonstrating its utility in creating a plethora of wear- and wash-stable conductive garments that have found use in heated garments specifically for US military. As the Primary Inventor & Research Lead in Soliyarn, she primarily focuses on using the same technology to develop eco-friendly & cost effective textile finishes for the industry.
- PhD Organic & Materials Chemistry, MIT

Vision
Disrupt textile processing: Sustainable platform technology that improves quality & consistency, increase throughput & lower costs to both business & environment.
Mission
Our mission is positive environmental impact and perpetual textile tech innovation. Our platform technology takes the resource-intensive processes used for extensive treatment of textiles and it replaces them with one clean, continuous and efficient process. Our customers get improved quality and consistency, higher throughput, and lower costs.
Saving the planet is a byproduct!
Adventurous, Innovative, Fun, Treehugger. Established in 2018, Soliyarn emerged to tackle a textile industry challenge: water waste. Leveraging Chemical Vapor Deposition technology, we pioneered a game-changing solution. Our approach transforms textiles into functional fabrics while preserving original feel, form & hand feel. This innovation enhances fabrics’ potential to do more with less.
